What to do first
Royalty psycasts need the right psylink level and a learned ability, plus enough psyfocus and manageable neural heat. Choose a psylink route that fits the pawn, such as imperial rewards or eligible natural meditation at an anima tree. A level alone does not mean every ability is learned.

Choose a psylink route
Start by checking that Royalty is active. Psycasts are not Core abilities, and a mod with expanded psycasts can replace acquisition or balance rules. Use the unmodded ability description as the starting point for this guide.
Check level, learned ability and resources
Imperial title rewards and psylink items are one route; anima-tree progress is another for eligible natural meditators. Inspect the pawn’s focus types instead of assuming any colonist can use the same tree-based plan.
Why a psycast is unavailable
Separate three questions: does the pawn have a sufficient psylink, have they learned this ability, and can they pay its costs now? Meditation maintains psyfocus, while neural heat limits repeated casting. The intended target must also satisfy the ability’s rules.
Optional Ideology route
Choose a route based on the pawn and the colony’s commitments, not a universal fastest-leveling claim. Ideology adds optional interactions, but owning it is not necessary to use Royalty psycasts. Permits and rankings of every individual power are different tasks.
