Quick answer

What to do first

Larger raids can reflect colony wealth and population, storyteller settings and adaptation—not just the day count. Compare the History wealth graph and recent acquisitions with your combat readiness. Reduce avoidable exposure and invest existing resources in defense rather than assuming a wealth number predicts an exact raid.

Identify what changed before the raid

Open History and look for changes around the time threats felt harder. Loot, new structures and a growing colony can increase exposure before your defenders become safer. A caravan return or new stockpile can matter even if you did not deliberately expand your base.

Compare wealth, population and settings

Wealth is only part of raid-point generation. Difficulty and storyteller behavior influence the experience, and population and adaptation can also matter. Enemy selection and raid type then affect what those points become. Two colonies with similar wealth need not face identical groups.

Spend resources on readiness

Use a readiness review rather than destroying possessions reflexively. Ask whether each fighter has appropriate equipment, a safe fighting plan and treatment afterward. If production is creating valuables you cannot use, slow it while catching up. Essential medicine is not waste merely because it contributes value.

What a wealth graph cannot predict

Patch-specific anomalies should not become permanent strategy. The 1.6.4850 notes adjusted bridge market values associated with water-ruin wealth spikes. Confirm version before diagnosing an old report as a current rule. This page does not offer a wealth-only formula or a universally safe killbox.
