Quick answer
Current live-game guidanceWhat to do first
Place a Sap extractor on a glowing Ancient Root in the Mistlands. Collect sap and combine it with soft tissue in an Eitr refinery to make refined eitr. The normal recipe is one sap and one soft tissue per refined eitr, not two sap. Keep the refinery and loose output away from vulnerable structures because they emit damaging sparks.
Start with the extractor
| Build | Materials |
|---|---|
| Sap extractor | 10 Yggdrasil wood, 5 black metal, 1 Dvergr extractor; Workbench in range. |
| Eitr refinery | 20 black marble, 5 black metal, 10 Yggdrasil wood, 5 black cores, 3 sap; Workbench in range. |
- 1
Find a Dvergr component crate for the extractor component. Damaging protected Dvergr property can make its occupants hostile; plan for that risk instead of treating the camp as free storage.
- 2
Bring the required black metal to a usable Ancient Root. Ordinary trees are not sap sources.
- 3
Build the extractor on the root and collect from it. It holds a limited amount, so check it rather than leaving it full indefinitely.
- 4
If production slows because the root is depleted, let it recover or move to another root. Empty the extractor before dismantling it.
Get soft tissue and black cores
Mine soft tissue inside giant skulls with a black metal pickaxe. Dvergr crates are another source, with the same warning about angering their owners. Sap by itself will not make refined eitr.
Black cores come from Infested Mines. The refinery needs five of them; allow for the cores already committed to other Mistlands stations rather than arriving with only the sap and wood.
Feed both inputs and protect the area
- 1
Build the refinery away from your wooden storage and main walking route, or use suitable resistant protection such as black marble around the affected area.
- 2
Put sap into the lower front input and soft tissue into the grinder at the top. A safe access stair is easier than repeatedly jumping while carrying resources.
- 3
Keep both inputs supplied and collect the refined eitr output. The output can also emit sparks while lying on the ground.
- 4
Store the finished material safely and use it for Mistlands crafting, including the Galdr table path.
Do not assume ordinary stone walls are immune to the refinery's elemental discharge. Wood and normal stone can take damage; choose the enclosure material deliberately.
If the chain stops
| Where it stopped | Check |
|---|---|
| Extractor produces nothing | Correct Ancient Root, available sap and collection capacity. |
| Refinery does not produce | Both sap and soft tissue inputs, not just one full hopper. |
| You cannot cast after crafting eitr | Eat Eitr food; inventory materials do not fill the magic bar. |
| Nearby walls keep losing health | Move or protect the refinery and collect loose eitr; repairing alone will not remove the source of damage. |
